Chesapeake continues to invest in the communities where it operates with the recent establishment of an endowed scholarship at the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Awards from the scholarship will begin during the 2023–24 academic year.
“We are pleased to be able to make such a long-lasting investment through the endowed scholarship at Penn College,” said Communications and Community Affairs Manager Brooke Coe. “The endowment will build over time to create more scholarships, positively impacting future generations for years to come.”
Students may use the Chesapeake Energy Endowed Scholarship to defray the costs of tuition, fees, books, tools, required instructional supplies and any other eligible education expenses.
Preference will be given to students who are enrolled full time in any program in the School of Engineering Technologies — or in accounting or business management majors — and have a home residence in Lycoming, Sullivan, Bradford, Wyoming or Susquehanna counties. The scholarship is renewable for students who maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Chesapeake is a long-standing Pennsylvania College of Technology partner and is increasing its support with the endowed scholarship. The company’s advocacy spans across campus and beyond, supporting the Penn College Foundation, the annual Golf Classic, Workforce Development and K-12 initiatives.
Chesapeake’s Marcellus Community Affairs Representative Jonah Howe presented the endowed scholarship gift to the college. As a Penn College graduate and previous scholarship recipient, he knows firsthand the value this will bring to deserving students.
“A Penn College education opens doors of opportunity for the rest of your life,” Jonah said. “The institution is always adapting and always improving through a culture of authentic leadership, which creates successful outcomes for tomorrow’s workforce.”
